Characteristics

The yellow-bellied prinia inhabits among flats to farmlands and fields in hilly areas. The birds are often active in groups of two or three in dense grasses and are vigilant for humans. The tail often swings up and down with the calls. The yellow-bellied prinia is not good at long-distance flying.
Habits: The yellow-bellied prinia often makes “mheh” calls like the sheep, as well as “khì-sí-lí-tio̍h-ài-puê, khì-sí-lí-tio̍h-ài-puê” in Taiwanese.
Resident/Common; Body length: 14 cm
Birdwatching period: year round
